About Us
Toornado Metallurgy is headed by our Principal Paul Toor.  Paul has over 17 years of experience in the minerals processing industry in a variety of roles including; plant metallurgist, analytical metallurgist, project metallurgist, development manager for an OEM and as a consultant for a global engineering company. Paul’s experience in all aspects of the industry from site based, services, OEM and consultancy allow him to provide holistic and practical solutions to his clients. Paul’s interests include optimisation of SAG mills and liner design, closed ball mill circuits and stirred mills. In particular, Paul is acknowledged as an expert in SAG mills and liner design, with extensive experience conducting lifter-liner assessments worldwide for SAG mills ranging from 22' to 40', in various configurations and commodities.

Lifter-Liner Design Support

At Toornado Metallurgy we utilise a holistic approach for mill liner design which combines process expertise with practical design experience to provide our clients with mill liner designs which not only meet the required service life but improves mill performance. In addition to using traditional liner design tools such as trajectory modelling, DEM modelling, we also conduct mill performance reviews, process modelling and detailed wear assessments to provide the optimum lifter-liner solution.
